NOBC Team Photo (circa 1972)
This team photo was taken by Bob Perrin just prior to the start of the La Bouchere Gran Prix, a criterium that was held in the New Orleans French Quarter. It is from around 1972 (yes, those ARE front pockets!). Riders are (left to right): Standing: Chris Schramel, Greg Gulotta, Richard Gin, Kenny Moise, Chris Todd, Don Lagrone, Jim Montgomery, Jim McFadden, Doug Haddock, John Gin. Kneeling: Peggy Keilman, Randy Legeai, Randy Holmes. Jim Montgomery still races extensively in the Master's division and has won numerous national championships, but only rode with the NOBC for a couple of years. Randy Legeai still races locally and regionally with the NOBC. Jim McFadden went on to found the famous (infamous?) cycling rag "Competitive Cycling" and subsequently to produce the USCF's newspaper for a number of years. The red jersey that he's wearing (yes, it was wool even though it was about 90 degrees F that day) was the prize for the district championship road race. |
